question about vq - Guild Wars Forums

hi,

yesterday i started vq'ing in Canta and i noticed i only got 3 golden drops in 4 areas (jade sea). The only thing i was getting was gold.

so, here's my question: does spirits/minions affect the drops?
to be honest i dont think it does.

ps. i never vq/farm those areas

Simply
- No, its creatures u Create during the battles/before/after, so it wount change any drops
and sometimes u just wount get many drops, and sometimes u'll end up with more than ur inventory can take

Spirits and minions dont, Heroes and henchies do....i bet Dunkoro stole your drops, he's such a thief

LMFAO its not dunkoro you cant trust, its ogden he is very small and quiet. watch out for the small ones...

The only thing that will split ur drops is other party members. Spirits and minions do not. Allies do not.

If spirits affected drops, solo faming on a ranger or rit would be near impossible.

P.S I think Livia took the drops....She's got all that space

It's all luck. Sometimes you'll get a lot of stuff, sometimes you'll get nothing. The only thing that effects it is party size. Spirits and minions have no effect on it.

I've been vanquishing in Vabbi lately. Yesterday in one area I got something like three or four gold weapons and a green, and then nothing but collectibles in the next area. I've gone out and had to stop halfway to salvage stuff because my inventory was full, or not even fill the first pane another time.

Three golds in one run is pretty decent, in my experience. I usually get maybe one or two (not counting any chests I decide to open) on average.

spirits/minions don't affect the drops generally but i think Livia taught the minions how to pick up items and bring them to her... :P

I would tend to disagree with this, I think it also depends on how fast you are killing the foes

But I am only basing this on solo farming, not vqing with a whole group.
With a whole group, you only get what you get. Try taking more humans and less H/H

I have found I get more (full group) drops this way as well

Not only do heroes & henchies get their fair share of the loot, they get their fair share of the gold drops. If you want to see lots of gold drops in HM, take a full human party -you'll be amazed at how many golds other party members get (which would have gone to Heroes/henchies otherwise)
